MCA Department

Objective:

Sphoorthy Engineering College is executing a Post Graduation Course, Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A) affiliated to JNTU with 60 student’s intake from 2007.   

The postgraduate program in computer applications is essentially aimed at developing a student with excellent programming and system related competencies. The student is expected to possess skills and core knowledge both in hardware and software technologies related to the discipline of computer applications. Teaching is focused on systems programming as well as application programming. Knowledge is imparted in computer architecture and design, maintenance and networking. Students are also taught a spectrum of programming languages spanning assembly language programming, C, C++, Java and Oracle. In addition, they are also imparted skills in packages like Multimedia.

Profile of the Department:
 

The Department of MCA consists of 12 faculty members, having both Industry and academic experience. The department is intended to enable the students to grasp the basics of software technology. The students are primarily trained here to leverage computer software and hardware efficiently.

 The labs in the department focused on state of art technologies like multimedia, database management, visual modeling and all programming techniques.   

LABORATORIES:

The department has been giving importance to the development of computer labs by procuring the state of art hardware and licensed software. At present the dept has installed 285 systems connected to 4 servers that include Linux server, Windows NT.  Procurement of high end servers, up gradation of the system by way of memory enhancements and procurement of loaded software on the latest tools are planned and executed from time to time.

Library:

In order to fulfill the objective of achieving academic excellence and career development, the department is equipped with all infrastructure vise, highly qualified teaching faculty, state-of-the-art computing facilities and a sophisticated library housing voluminous text books and periodicals. In addition, the following common facilities also contribute to the quality of teaching-learning process.

   The department of MCA is not only trains the Academic Syllabus in the class room’s but also motivates Student’s to achieve their desired goal.

We have a Training and Placement Cell, always giving the training and motivation to reach their target.  Training and Placement Cell continuously train the students from the day of admission in the following areas.
